Aspirational year 10 Coleshill School students have been aiming high this week with a visit to Clare College in Cambridge.
The overnight residential trip enabled them the opportunity to experience life as a student and included participating in university workshops, tours and academic sessions.
Glyn Owen, head of sixth form, said:
The Clare College visit allowed our students to experience what it might be like to study at a world-class university like Cambridge. In a busy and exciting programme.
They were wowed by the 14th Century buildings and experienced an undergraduate level lecture by a world expert on volcanoes and earthquakes. It has certainly opened their eyes to the possibilities that exist in higher education.”
