Super spellers from ATLP schools came together at Slade Primary School today to go head-to-head in the first ever Arthur Terry Learning Partnership Spelling Bee.
The grand finale saw pupils from primary years 1-6 and secondary school students put pen to paper to spell a number words – some of which had a sting in the tail…..
Slade headteacher, Helen Hastilow, read out the words, which included some real brainteasers such as kaleidoscope and Galapagos. But the word wizards were not remotely fazed by the spellings. She said:
“You have been wonderful! Well done to everyone from our ATLP schools. We have had great fun hosting the event and we hope you have had great fun learning, because spelling is so important.”
Mrs Hastilow then presented the seven winners with WH Smith vouchers.
Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners on their super spelling
