Energetic students and staff from across the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership have been busy raising money for charity – and getting some exercise at the same time.
Schools across the ATLP have been taking part in a range of activities for Sport Relief 2016.
From running a mile in laps around the playground, to bake offs, children and adults from primary and secondary schools have been donning their exercise gear and putting their best feet forward for charity.
Mere Green Primary has bags of support for Sport Relief. The school teamed up with Sainsbury’s to pack customers’ groceries. Kitted out in deely boppers, the children greeted shoppers with a helping hand as part of their fundraising efforts.
Anna Balson, headteacher of Mere Green said:
As community partners with Sainsbury’s we’re always keen to volunteer to support Mere Green and charitable causes. The children did an excellent job in helping to pack away customers’ groceries and we’re very proud of how helpful they all were.
This was just one of a number of activities that we’ve been taking part in and we hope that Mere Green’s and Sainsbury’s events will help Sport Relief to reach their fundraising goal!”
