Become a Governor

Make a Difference

Focus on trust board and governance 1 Tim SewellWhy not make a difference to the lives of children by becoming a governor with the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership?

Becoming a governor can be a rewarding and life-changing experience. It provides an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our learning communities: just ask any of our volunteer governors – we have more than 70 in total.

Governor opportunities are available across the partnership: ideally for people with leadership expertise, possibly with some experience as a governor, trustee or non-executive director. Governors carry out a range of duties and attend meetings with fellow members of their local governing body throughout the year.

Membership of local governing bodies is drawn from a broad range of partners and stakeholders. The ATLP is looking to strengthen the Partnership with the appointment of new governors who will bring leadership expertise, possibly with some experience as a governor, trustee or non-executive director.

Tim Sewell, chair of the ATLP Trust Board, said:

We’re seeking motivated individuals who’ve got what it takes to help us drive our schools forward and who share our commitment to sustaining high performance.

We’re looking for professionals with an industry background. But first and foremost, applicants must be passionate about the role we play in improving life chances for children across our communities. They should also be committed to bringing their strategic skills to bear in a challenging, but fulfilling, role.

This is a real opportunity for people to join a respected partnership and to make a contribution to the leadership of a primary school within a multi-academy trust.“
