Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award training

A determined group of 26 Year 10 students from the Coleshill School are undergoing intensive training for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.

They have an initial two day training course involving map reading, cooking outside and putting up tents, to prepare for the practise expedition in April and the final expedition in July.

The final expedition will involve:

  • Planning a route (6 miles)
  • Setting up camp for the night
  • Cooking meals outdoors
  • Navigating their way back

Mr Gray, head of PE, said:

The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a challenging adventure.  Not only will the students have fun and work as a team, they will do a wide range of activities and learn new skills”
