Heading for success – student reflections mirror school’s progress

The Coleshill School’s head boy, Luke, and head girl, Olivia, reflect on an active year

As well as working hard in year 13 towards their A-Levels, Luke and Olivia have done an amazing job as head boy and head girl at the Coleshill School this year.  The school asked them both to reflect on their time in their leadership positions.

Luke said: “My role as head boy has been an enjoyable experience which has helped me progress personally through my involvement with planning the sixth form prom to representing the school in the local church remembrance service.  Although the role has been challenging, I feel it has paid dividends by giving me a solid skill foundation to build upon when I advance to higher education.”

Olivia commented: “Being head girl has opened up so many opportunities to develop my public speaking, including being involved in formal community events and helping to plan the sixth form prom.  The role has been nothing but rewarding and I look forward to using the experience I have gained to succeed at university.”

Mr Owen, head of sixth form, said:

Luke and Olivia have set a great example in their leadership roles in the school.  They have worked with their peers to develop aspects of the sixth form and represented the school on public occasions with poise and maturity. They have both secured excellent university offers and will no doubt go on to even greater success.”
