Hundreds muster for cluster days at Arthur Terry

On Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd June, Arthur Terry hosted our annual Cluster Days to welcome nearly 700, year 5 and 6 students from partner primary schools, to begin to prepare them for ‘big school’ next September or the year after! Participant schools included Mere Green, Hill West, Four Oaks, Coppice, Moor Hall, Whitehouse Common and Little Sutton.

The theme of the two days was ‘well-being and what makes us happy’ ! Ros Geillis designed a terrific classroom based session that was both interactive and really got the youngsters thinking about what makes them feel good, Donna Horspool arranged a dynamic trampette to music session in the hall, dodge ball took place on the tennis courts, the field hosted fun, fete-style games including tug of war and bouncy-hopper races, ‘Relax Kids’, a local enterprise delivered a restorative relaxation & breathing session in the gym, ‘Cherish’ a Sutton Coldfield based charity explored issues surrounding self-esteem and self-confidence, ‘Explore Learning’, another local organisation examined school-based stress, resilience & stress management strategies whilst Anna Graham designed creative and personalised well-being art installations – what a programme!

A huge thanks to all Arthur Terry colleagues & sixth form volunteers, visiting contributors, partner primary school students and staff alike who helped Sue Bailey co-ordinate such a wonderful event.
