Meet, Eat, Drink & Learn Employability Training

On Thursday 27th April and Wednesday 3rd May, Jo Andrews, a Birmingham University professor, delivered the Meet, Eat, Drink & Learn (MEDaL) employability programme to 14 A Level students from Arthur Terry.

The participating students took part in interactive sessions exploring effective job applications, CV writing & interview techniques, collaborative working practises and event management logistics. The students, who are soon to graduate from Arthur Terry sixth form, enjoyed the professional, work-place feel of the event at The Royal Hotel, Sutton Coldfield

The whole event was only possible thanks to a funding grant from the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust, with Grants Manager, John Hemming and Chief Executive Ernie Murray attending the event to award the medals at the culmination of the course. Sutton Coldfield Conservative Candidate, Andrew Mitchell and Sutton Coldfield’s Chamber of Commerce Julia Gray also attended the medal ceremony.

The student names were: Thomas Ashford, Cherrie Hayes, Jamie Morrow-Jones, Olivia Wilkins, Daniel Gaffney, Reece Arnold, Nicholas Bennett, Emily Rollins, Alex Woods, Tristan Coley, Richard Brierwood, Davinder Shergill, Ally Brown and Matthew Gainer.
