Queen of the prom fairs – a first for Royal town

A stylish Sutton Coldfield school is helping prom-goers in the town prepare for the night of their lives.

The Prom Fair, the first of its kind in this area, which takes place at the Arthur Terry School on 2 February, is set to attract hundreds of young people and their parents.

Prom-goers will be able to choose from a variety of hairdressing, beauty and transportation services they might need for the big night. The school’s hall will be transformed into a catwalk to showcase the latest trends in dresses, suits, make-up, jewellery and accessories. Limousines will be lined up outside so that students can sign up to some VIP treatment for their prom.

The glitzy event is being arranged by Arthur Terry staff, along with the student committee. Organiser Charlie Sheppard said:

A prom fair has never been done before, so we are really excited to be hosting such a fun and informative evening. The school prom is a milestone event for young people and we want to make sure they dress for success and arrive in style for their memorable night.

From top tips to the latest dresses and suits, the fair is a one-stop-shop for students and parents to gain a taste of prom life. It’s also great both for the students who will gain valuable skills from organising such an event, and for local business and we are hoping to attract more firms to the event.”

There will also be a raffle with some smart prizes, including a pair of designer prom shoes and a £100 voucher for Slaters Menswear.

Tickets cost £2. The Prom Fair takes place Friday 2nd February from 5.30 pm until 8pm- The Arthur Terry School, Kittoe Road, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, B74 4RZ
