Rowing for Gold! In ‘oar’ of year 9 girls

On Tuesday 24th January Year 9 students from The Coleshill School took part in the Girls Level 2 School Games Rowing Competition at CTC / Kingshurst Academy.

A team of four year 9 students took to the indoor rowing machines competing against other schools in the local area. Each member took to the rowing machines in a four minute time trial. Coleshill took an early lead rowing 930m, followed by 877m, the third team member rowed 838m. Coleshill finished the final stage strong rowing 923m. Onto the next event an 8 minute relay, with a little practice on the change overs the team rowed a massive 1782 meters. With the team totals calculated, The Coleshill School finished 1st rowing a massive 5350 meters.

The team have now been selected to represent the County at the level 3 County final School Games.

Miss Blunt, PE Teacher commented “We are so proud of our Year 9 Girls’ Team, they came first against very strong competition. This was all down to their excellent team work and dedication.”
