Taylor Smith, year 9 student at The Coleshill School, and Jack Smith, year 8, represented England in the sixth ITF World Cup Tae Kwon do competition held in Budapest.
Jack reached the quarter finals and lost to a Russian competitor who won 2 rounds in the final.
Taylor’s category consisted of 12-15 year old female competitors from 58 countries. Taylor achieved a respectable 9th place finish in her patterns category on the first day. On the second day Taylor achieved 17th place in her full contact sparring category.
Taylor’s father, Mr Smith, said:
Taylor achieved more than we could have hoped for representing her country in her first ever world cup.”

We are so proud of Taylor and Jack representing England. This is an amazing achievement and their dedication and hard work is a credit to them both.
