Ambitious students stepped up in front of their proud families to collect their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards at a celebration evening at the Coleshill School on Tuesday (19 March).
In total, 48 students received their Bronze Award which involved completing a two-day expedition on foot and their Voluntary, Physical and Skill sections for an hour a week for between three and six months where they learnt new skills that will enhance their CVs and university applications.
Mr Duggan, Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinator, said:
Our students embarked on numerous activities including football coaching, litter picking, cooking and music, with activities that they hadn’t taken part in previously. Each student worked incredibly hard and for some it was their first experience of sleeping in a tent. It’s wonderful that so many participants have managed to complete their awards.”
