Girls take a bow after rowing competition victory

Oar-some students at the Coleshill School have propelled their way to success after competing in a Level 2 Unity School Games rowing competition at Fordbridge Primary School on 21 November.

Two teams were entered for the indoor rowing competition which involved a four minute individual row and a team row, with each member rowing two minutes each to row eight minutes in total.

Kate achieved 956 meters, Rosie achieved 995m, Lexie rowed 898m rowing into first place in their individual races. In the relay event, Coleshill A team rowed 1928m and Coleshill B team rowed 1478m.

Natasha Blunt, PE teacher, said:

Both teams displayed great teamwork skills between the relay transitions and motivating each other.  With the individual and relay meters added up,  team A rowed a total of 5626 meters and team B achieved 4449 meters.  Congratulations and well done girls on representing the school in a very competitive indoor rowing competition.”

Coleshill A team won the competition and will now progress onto the Level 3 School Games Rowing event competing for North Solihull.
