Active young leaders from the Coleshill School have been using their skills to give help primary school children excel in the sporting arena.
On Thursday 28 March,16 year 10 Coleshill sports leaders went to North Solihull Sports Centre to assist 12 primary schools in the running of a level 2 infant agility competition for year 1 and 2 pupils.
The year 10s led the events with seven stations of activities, including chest throw, standing long jump, javelin throw, speed steps and bean bag throwing. They supported primary school leaders who also helped at the stations and the students worked together to record results and ensure everybody had fun.
More than 240 primary school students took part in the morning and afternoon events. The year 10 sports leaders demonstrated excellent ‘SPIRT’ skills demonstrating: Independence and Self-management throughout the event and worked together as a team to ensure the event ran smoothly.
PE teacher, Miss Blunt, said:
A massive well done the year 10 sports leaders who stepped up to the challenge encouraging and supporting primary school students, it was a great day out and it’s pleasing to see the confidence develop in our young leaders.”
